Bulgaria is ready to accept Russian tourists as a safe destination

For the past 26 years Bulgaria has been participating in the fair every year, and this year we are a partner country for the first time. This, in turn, testifies to the importance of the exhibition and the importance of Russia as a tourism market and partner for our country.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Demographic Policy, Minister of Tourism Maryana Nikolova at the opening of the International Tourism Exhibition "Rest 2020" in Moscow, the Ministry of Tourism told Moreto.net.

In her welcoming speech, Nikolova stressed that every year hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens choose Bulgaria for their holidays, recognizing the traditions, quality and diversity of the Bulgarian tourist product.

Our guests from Russia prefer our golden Black Sea beaches, spa and wellness centers, gastronomic, cultural and historical routes. “Our country has many opportunities for mass and specialized high quality tourism, which makes Bulgaria an attractive and competitive place for four seasons,” said Deputy Prime Minister Nikolova.

She also drew attention to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic had an extremely negative impact on tourism, which did not function for almost 3 months due to closed borders and the introduced anti-epidemic measures that limited all types of travel.

Despite all the difficulties, with the implementation of timely anti-epidemic measures to reduce infection and economic measures to help the tourism sector, Bulgaria is ready to receive guests from Russia as a safe place in the context of the ongoing coronavirus crisis, Nikolova said. The Ministry of Tourism is making every effort to resume tourist trips to Russia, which is a goal for both countries.

The International Tourism Exhibition "Rest 2020" is an excellent platform for getting to know the tourism potential of our country, and I would like to invite you to our stand to rediscover Bulgaria, - the Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria addressed all the guests and expressed his conviction that that these are interesting and productive meetings with exhibitors in search of new opportunities to improve cooperation and partnership in the field of tourism.
