Bulgaria continues to compete in the construction of the automobile giant Volkswagen plant. This was announced on the air of "Morning Bulgaria" by the Minister of Economy of Bulgaria Emil Karanikolov. According to him, our country is ahead of Turkey in many respects.
Karanikolov explained that the investments of the German concern will amount to 1.4 billion euros, creating from 4 to 5 thousand jobs. He added that a decision on where the plant will be built will be made in September.
“One Volkswagen representative said that a final decision on where the plant will be located has not yet been made. Bulgaria is still in the race. We are ahead of Turkey with our EU membership, lower operating costs, the highly skilled workforce and location that we offer, ”the minister said.
