According to the report of the National Statistical Institute, inflation in Bulgaria over the past year was 3.3%

Despite the general level of annual inflation, in July there was a decline in prices for most goods and services. Compared to this period of the previous year, the diflation was 0.5%, and compared to the beginning of the year - 1.6%. According to statistics, the average annual inflation for the period from August 2012 to July 2013, compared with the period from August 2011 to July 2012, reached 3.3%.

In July, the largest decline in prices was observed for clothes and shoes, compared with the previous month, they fell by 2.5%. The decrease in food prices was 1.6%, and for furniture and household appliances 1.2%. The decline in prices is also observed in healthcare, where, against the background of a slight increase in the cost of medical services, the prices for medicines decreased by 0.7%.

The NSI report noted a slight increase in prices for transport, in education, in the field of restaurant and hotel services. Prices for alcohol and cigarettes remained almost unchanged (they rose 0.1% compared with June). Payment of utilities remained unchanged. The highest rise in prices was noted in the entertainment sector, it amounted to 4.1%.

The price of the minimum consumer basket in July fell by 1.1% compared to June of this year and by 2.6% compared to December 2012.
